If you hear noise (hiss) in your output, it will be removed now.
If no hiss is present in the original recordings, this step can be skipped. However, even music that
was released this year (2008) often still contains some background noise, which can be amplified a lot
by the processing in Stereo Tool and become audiable.
Turn on Remove noise. (You need Stereo Tool 3.10 or better for this.)
Move the slider to control how much noise is removed. Setting this slider too high may reduce some
(minor) artifacts. Setting it too low will not remove all the noise. You should try to configure it
such that it removes most of the noise for most of your tracks.
If you only play modern (2000s) music, a value of 0.30 should suffice. For 1980s music, 0.80 works
very well. For older music (1960s-1970s), depending on the tracks, 1.00 up to 3.00 or higher can be needed.
